Kochere comes from within the famous coffee-producing zone of Yirgacheffe. It is known for its exquisite and aromatic taste. In this roast you will pick up on earl grey, chai, and notes of berries. We roast this as a light roast so that these delicate tastes are preserved.
Grade 1 lots are fully washed, sun dried on raised beds, meticulously hand sorted, with exceptional attention to detail, earning the designation YIRG-Z. This stands for zero defects.

Small-holder families grow this coffee traditionally among their gardens of sustenance crops and then bring the beans to the washing station. The station acts as a community hub, with support, education and programming for the local community. Employees are paid fairly for the extra time spent hand-sorting YirgZ beans.
