The journey of Five’21 begins with roasting coffee beans in a whirley popcorn maker in a basement, tucked in behind shelves and storage boxes. Co-owner, Trevor, started taking his homemade coffee recipes into the Fire Station in craft paper bags for feedback and tasting notes. With his fire crew’s encouragement, Five’21 began to expand. From an AHS health and safety approved workshop in the garage, to a facility in Calgary’s barley belt. The paths of Matt and Trevor crossed and they’ve been riding a wild wave of endless learning, fuelled by a passion for ethically sourced, locally roasted coffee that is made for coffee drinkers who appreciate quality and living with intention.
